Innovation Camp for Educators 2020

Open to: Educators, Heads of School, Principals, Department Chairs, Grade Level Chairs, Technology Leads, iLab/Makerspace Managers, Makers & Design Enthusiasts

Our Innovation Camp engages participants in the innovation process. This 5-day camp will get your creative juices flowing as you gain first hand experience working in a collaborative studio environment. You’ll learn how to use a framework of innovation and enabling technologies to develop your problem solving skills with the intent of integrating this creative mindset within your school, organization or company.

This Summer, we are offering two sessions of our Innovation Camp for Educators:

Session 1: US (West Coast)/Asia-Pacific Online Camp
Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17, 2020
8am-10am HST // 11am-1pm PDT (Synchronous)
10am-12pm HST // 1-3pm PDT (Asynchronous/Office Hours)

Session 2: US (East Coast)/Europe Online Camp
Monday, August 17 to Friday, August 21, 2020
10am-12pm EDT // 2-4pm GMT (Synchronous)
1-3pm EDT // 5-7pm GMT (Asynchronous/Office Hours)

Who Should Attend

The "Studio" Track of our Innovation Camp is for educators, instructional coaches, facilitators, professionals, makers-to-be, design enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the hands-on innovation process. Participants will experience NuVu’s studio model and design process through hands-on projects and learn how to integrate this creative mindset within their school, classroom, or professional environment. If you have an interest in design education or the innovation process, then our Studio Innovation Camp is for you!

What You Will Learn

During the 5-day camp, participants will:

  • Experience hands-on creative problem solving using a framework of innovation
  • Gain insight into how NuVu's framework for innovation can be applied in your classroom, school, program, or collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with others to design projects while going through the design process with the support of our expert Coaches
  • Learn to use digital fabrication tools, digital software, and enabling technologies (3D modeling, 3D printers, laser cutters, physical computing, programmable microcontrollers, wearable electronics)
  • Acquire fabrication and making skills
  • Connect with others interested in creative education, design, and innovation
